My shopping experience: I went to Big Game Archery last weekend as I had heard good things about the store in a number of forums. I had a great shopping experience and can greatly recommend this store! I am new to the sport and on this first visit basically new nothing about archery yet. Even though I did not clearly say that I wanted to make a purchase right away the owner took a lot of time explaining the different types of compound bows to me, what the specifications mean (draw length, draw weight etc) and discussed various options for entering the world of archery. The owner gave me a crash course regarding how to shoot a bow and I was able to try the bow I was interested in. The bow was then set up to suit my needs. I purchased a number of arrows and a target as well to get started. With the great intro I got and the gear that I purchased I was able to go out shooting identifiable groups at my practice target right away. I'm hooked! Thank you! What else: Prices are good. Store offers full service Location: The store is in an unusual location and may appear hard to find for first timers. Just walk into the garden on the left side of the house. At the end there is a small flight of stairs down to the basement where the shop is located.
Great experience. Bought my bow from a gift card at a big box store and regretted it. Horribly tuned and bad advice. Novice mistake. Buy here and get it set up right THE FIRST TIME. I have bought all accessories here and will buy next bow here when I upgrade. Solid advice and service. I'm a fan.
Don't let the location fool you - this business has lots for archers of all levels, and the owner, Wayne, is very helpful and knowledgeable, with years of experience under his belt. Whether you are just starting out and buying your first bow, or are a more experienced archer needing to pick up supplies and get your compound bow restrung, this is the guy to see. I believe he also does lessons too.
