I understand they are a charity and we donated to them for years. We constantly recieved solicitation calls from big brother asking for donations. We would have a donation maybe 1 of 10 times they called. It was a bit of a bother as the calls starting mimicking telemarketers. When we renovated our kitchen they happened to call. We had a lot kitchen ware to donate including appliances. We offered all our old appliances for free, all in good working condition. They accepted and set up a pickup with us. As usual, we left everything out front of our home. They came, took the clothing etc in bags, shifted around the appliances and left. They did not take any of the appliances including the small microwave oven that was almost brand new in its box. We were confused. I called big brother and they stated they \Do not take appliances\. WHAT?? You called us, as you do weekly, we offered the appliances and you accepted. My wife and I spent hours scrubing and polishing the appliances so they'd be spick and span for their next owner only to have big brother accept the donation and the simply kick it to the curb when they arrived. Everything worked, was clean and really should have been repurposed. In the end I had to pay to have them removed. We have since had our number removed from their solicitation list.

Love this organization. Took about five months for my son to get a match. Totally worth the wait, he has so much more self-esteem and confidence since he's had his Big Brother. He's had his match for three yrs. His Big is such a positive influence on my son. I recommend this organization.

An amazing charity that does a lot to help at-risk youth. Research studies from around the world point to mentorship and providing youth with prosocial role models as a key factor in helping them develop into positive members of the community. Highly recommend supporting BBGV.
