My husband, a paramedic, was diagnosed positive for Covid on Tuesday. By Wednesday his symptoms were worse (coughing, short of breath, nauseous and high fever) and then he had a seizure. He was taken by ambulance to the emergency at RVH, given a blood test, an x-ray, CT scan and 5 hours later sent home with instruction to drink Gatorade....when he asked about the scans he was told 'all good.' Today, Thursday, he is worse, with higher fever and increased shortness of breath. Our family doctor called to check in as she had received the report from his emergency visit to RVH (Dr. Kim). Our family doctor 24 hours later told us the radiology report, that would have been available to the doctor in real time, said that my husband had pneumonia and needed more imaging. And THAT was how we learned the x-ray showed he has pneumonia. Needless to say we are now at Sunnybrook. I am in the parking lot and he is in being actually assessed and treated and I am confident that the medical team are not of the belief that Gatorade is now considered a curative measure in the fight against Covid-19 and are being more proactive in the treatment of a man that, beyond Covid infection, has chronic interstitial lung disease and chronic Sarcoidosis (both serious lung conditions.)

RVH is a great place to get healthcare. Granted, though I have almost no personal experience in the ER, I do have regular appointments in a few other departments & I am well taken care of with wonderful ongoing treatments from professional staff & top-notch doctors. The building itself is beautiful, though do to its massive size I think they should provide maps so you can find your way around the building easier. I've found myself getting lost on a few occasions.

By and large the most useless ER I've ever been to. Walk in with major chest pains and difficulty breathing and you're given an ecg to make sure you're not having a heart attack and then made to wait 7 hours every single time without fail before seeing a nurse who tells you you're fine or having an anxiety attack and to go home. You could walk in with a bullet wound and be told to go home if the pain wasn't bad enough.

Been to RVC Hospital Emergency unit and I personally find it very good compared to Scarborough General Hospital but it was too tight and won’t be able to accommodate more patients i.e. if in case 20 to 30 patients show up at the same time. Staff was very polite, cheerful and super helpful. Hospital area was clean and staff was taking all efforts to maintain social distancing. Registration and triage was fast, all done in 15mins and then 30 mins in waiting area but it took almost about 90 minutes for a doctor to show up. May be because it just a minor problem. So overall it was a good experience and first visit to this hospital.

Reception was really polite. Waited 3 hours for a Dr. to see me. Consultation lasted no lie 5 minutes. Dr. seemed unconcerned or uninterested in helping my potential concussion. Was sent home
