Came here in December 2019. We got free admission to the springs from our hotel because the pool where we were staying was undergoing maintenance. It was really nice and clean. They even have a machine that dries your swimsuit and it’s free to use (it doesn’t dry completely but gets majority of water out so it’s easier to pack). I would recommend coming in the wintertime, looks to be packed in summer!

best money i have spent on our Banff visit. if you are visiting Banff, make sure to visit here. no tour guide required, arrows and signs are very clear on where to go. the fee is only 7.50 Cad and it includes a locker token already! towel is a different rent but very minimal. unplanned? they rent swim suits as well! there will be a short walk upwards as the parking near the facility is limited and prioritized those with blue tags, but it is very short and lighted. the view from above the pool is picture perfect as well, and it may seem crowded, but when dipped in the pool, you wont mind that anymore. there is also a large digital clock facing the pool, so you can remember to cool down every now and then. drinking water dispensers are close by the pool as well. showers and changing areas are good as well, clean, well lit, and very sufficient to move around and change to dry clothes. free dryer boxes are available too, just be patient waiting in line. i came back here 4 times in our 5-day stay in Banff, I am definitely recommending it to all.
If you're a big fan of hot springs, if that geothermal runs through your veins and you enjoy the relaxing and rejuvenating mineral waters in a quiet serene natural setting, save yourself the trip and skip upper hot springs. If however you want a cultural experience and maybe just need to relax your muscles after a long day of hiking and don't mind squishing yourself next to a bunch of folks, then yes, definitely stop here. I was surprised by how busy it was. I was also surprised by the number of children treating it like a swimming pool. We stayed for probably 15 minutes. A little girl splashed me and her mom made her apologize and then she started crying because her mom made her apologize. It also smells like chlorine and with all the kids in there - well - you do the math. There was also only one big pool. They should call it upper hot spring singular. So, in conclusion: family friendly, pretty views, don't expect to relax. 3 stars because I'm judging this as a hot spring compared to other hot springs I've been to (and I have been to a lot of hot springs), and it was just ok.
Great place to go on a cool rainy day. The water was very warm and since there weren't many people in the rain before lunch it was a perfect spot to watch the fog roll across the mountains. Well priced and the facilities have been taken care of very well.
Parking was a nightmare, and we had to park along the street coming up the mountain and hike up for about 20 minutes. I suggest that you arrive early! There was construction preventing drop off access next to the facilities. It looked like a pool, but very warm! I assume it gets crowded on nice days, but we were lucky to have a cloudy day for it trip. Entrance comes with a locker key for single time access. If you need in and out of your locker, you will need to pay extra for more tokens. You will not need sandals on the deck as it opens right up into the pool. Onlookers can view the pool from above at the front entrance. Nice view of the Gondola going up the mountain in the background. I do wish there were smaller pools or a cool-water pool on site because the few chairs present were full the entire time. To cool off, you may have to sit on the concrete.
