What do I say - I am kind of lost for words to do justice. Bow Falls is another amazing place you just have to visit if you are anyway near Banff. Just 5 minutes out from Downtown Banff - Bow Falls on the Bow River is an amazing sight to behold. The amazing white waters as the Bow River cascades down massive rocks, the roar of the river in full flow, the cool wind whipping past and then the Bow River again gets calm and serene as it meanders through the valley. You can also hike back to Downtown Banff (relatively easy) and treat yourself to many more majestic views on the way. With the early onset of Fall - the changing colors made the visit ever so memorable.

Bow falls and Bow falls trail should be on your to do list when you visit Banff, regardless of the season. The trail is gentle, but all along the river with many scenic spots. Also go down from the falls a bit for an amazing view of the snow capped mountains. It is lovely that raging falls become a gentle stream so quickly.

If you can get there when there are no tour buses it's amazing, but it can get very congested so time your trip. It's a tiny road. I suggest you walk or bike and you'll have a better time with the added benefit of exercise. The exhaust from buses can be a rude interruption when walking or biking. I'm glad people from all over the world get to enjoy this area and feel very fortunate to have enjoyed it when the town was made with logs and river stone. Before area codes and when Joe Btfsplks diner was the place to go. It's still beautiful, just a congested mess at times. You used to be able to go down here and makeout without being worry about being interrupted. Now, 40 years later and I always have to worry!! JK
