BE CAREFUL Artisan Carpentry left our 3-4 day project unfinished for a month then failed to refund us when we had to complete the project ourselves. When we first hired Andrew (from Artisan Carpentry) to sand, wash, and stain our deck, everything appeared to be going well. He communicated well, performed a substantial amount of work in a day, and explained what he was going to do thoroughly. He also noticed that our deck railing was unstable and offered to replace it for a cost. In addition to this, Shea (Andrew's coworker) and Andrew, were kind and respectful. Unfortunately, this all changed after we paid Andrew. Trusting him, we gave away the full amount before the work was complete and Andrew never returned to finish the job. The pictures included are of the unfinished deck. We kept following up with Andrew but the days never seemed to work out for him. Eventually, a MONTH later, we chose to ask Andrew for a refund. Andrew said that he would provide us with a refund of one days work, which was fine by us. Weeks later, Andrew has still not refunded us the money, will not answer our calls or texts, and even hung up when we tried calling from a different number. We had to finish the job ourselves.

We hired Andrew (the owner) to build a pantry for us in the spring/summer of 2019. I can't remember what he was calling the company at the time, but it's the same person who also operates under "Just Clean," "Just Right Renovation and Landscaping," and "Artisan Carpentry & Renovations Inc". We paid a deposit of approximately 1,000. He never did the work, never paid us back, and became very difficult to contact. Just as a test, in the summer/fall of 2019, I called him from a different phone number, with the same type of job in the same neighbourhood - and he was "available." I'm writing this review nearly 2 years later, so he's had a lot of time to fix this. Please also search for, and consider, his July 5, 2019, WSIB convictions.
Had a really beat down old deck and front porch fence. Andrew did a good job rebuilding both. Also he help me fix up the front porch and small jobs around the house. Andrew is pleasant to work with. He is willing to listen and work with client to be creative about solutions and does good wood work. Also he always sets the right expectation for you. I would recommend it.
SO happy i found artisan carpentry & renovations andrew and his team were wonderful to work with. i had them install a fence and deck during the summer time and they did such a wonderful job ( lots of compliments) that i decided to choose them to do my basement. so far it is looking great, cant wait to see the finished product. keep up the great work!!!
Andrew and his team came in and fixed the mess another contractor made and abandoned. He came in and completed my tiling he was careful took his time and did an neat and clean job. So happy we found him he is awesome to work with, I would highly recommend him!!
Contractor didn't show up for agreed on deck reconstruction and has not returned my 1000 deposit. After receiving a quote in writing on July 24 to proceed with the job, deposit was e-transferred July 29. Installation date of August 17 was confirmed in writing. No one called, emailed or showed up. After numerous chasing, a revised install date of Aug 31 was confirmed in email by Andrew Viccajee. On Sept. 3 Andrew advised the Home Depot "double sold" inventory and he'd have to find material elsewhere. On Sept. 6 Andrew advised via text that job was rescheduled for Sept. 23. On Sept. 7 I received text "guaranteed before 2 weeks job will be completed". On Sept. 9 Andrew showed up at my house with "Kevin" and advised deck would have to be completely re-done and would cost more than quoted. I requested a revised estimate which I received in an email, increasing costs by 1,925 and promising "Please allow us to move forward with this. Let this email be proof as if there is any additional cost from the attached from this attached quote we (artisan carpentry and renovations inc) will take on that at no additional cost to you. I want to earn your trust and give you a beautiful deck." Again I agreed to the revised quote. On Mon Sept 21 no one showed up. On Tue Sept. 22 a huge bin was dropped on my driveway, blocking my garage with my truck parked inside. No correspondence prior to this drop-off was received, although I had emailed, and called asking for an update. On Wed Sept. 23 I called the bin company, explaining my situation and asking them to remove the bin as I am a caregiver for a bed-ridden senior parent in my home. They were able to contact the contractor who said to them that the job was cancelled?! I am at this time chasing the company to return my 1000 deposit. All of this information is verifiable in emails and texts.

Andrew and his team did a wonderful workmanship on our home renovation. Him and his team take great pride in their work and it definitely shows! thank you Artisan for the transformation of our new home!
