Could listen to stories from this place for days. Anchorage available on North side of the island with a trail to the site. Call Watchmen on channel 06 when you arrive to ask for permission to come ashore. Plan for visit to take 2-3hrs. Be sure to sign the guest book. The totem poles were designed to go back to the earth, so they will not be here forever. See them while you can! Ask about the forest trail as well. Enjoy. Listen.

I visited Ninstints back in 1985. It was totally quiet, with no Watchman, no one else there, no boardwalks, and no cleanup of the poles yet. It was both an exciting and moving experience; imagining that the site was a village for 1000s of years....
