Always very friendly and polite service, nicely laid out store with a good variety of books and clothing. Staff is knowledgeable and go the extra mile to find what you want. Holly is on top of ordering books not in stock. No complaints here. All good- I recommend this store:)

I have found that at Bainton's Tannery, I can order books that I am looking for and Holly does her very best to get them in for me without any hassle. I love perusing the books and find a lot about the locale as well as choices from around the globe - perfect for a little cozy bookstore.
I am very fond of Bainton's! Over time I have bought everything from mocassins to underwear to Tilley Endurable hats from the store--in addition to the books which I was mainly going there to find. I find the staff welcoming, easy-going, and knowledgeable, especially the cash-register cat. For those visiting the area, there is not only a good selection of books by local authors and about the region, there are also some pleasant chairs out front so you can sit with your purchase and alternate between reading it and watching the flow of foot traffic.
I am the elderly gentleman who was allegedly rude to Liz Gidney. Since I am not clear on the circumstances I would like to apologize sincerely for any unintentional rudeness. Shopping is suppose to be a pleasant and fun experience. Rudeness of any type is totally unacceptable. It is my hope she will soon return to the store
