I would not recommend this establishment to anyone. If you're looking to adopt I would take that animal to your own vet first and get the animal checked before deciding to adopt. My daughter adopted a cat there a few months ago and they gave her a sick cat. The cat ended up having a rare disease and would have had this disease for years before the adoption. The people at the SPCA would have had to have known if their vet they have on staff was competent. My daughter had paid over 1000 in vet bills so far. If it was up to me, I'd sue for the vet costs and demand my money back for the adoption fees.
Dont let your cat run loose
We adopted Jackson almost 12 years ago from the Bathurst SPCA. He is a very special part of our family. He owns the house, we just live with him.
It was very very clean, and the males cats and the females cats were very happy and healthy, There was a lot of toys for them to play with, and I ended up getting a kitten with my parents. All of the staff loved all of the animals, and they were very kind to them as well, I would strongly recommend!!!!!
I get my cat's nails clipped at the shelter every month, the staff--very pleasant , they're good with my cats and while their being tended too, we get to fuss over the 2-3 cats that greet us at the reception area.
Used to volunteer here and the staff was always friendly. I've been here recently and was glad to see there is not many animals. They all get adopted quite easily.
The Bathurst animal shelter helps find new homes for stray, abandoned and neglected animals. The animals are well taken care of while at the shelter, and the staff is extremely friendly. Drop in for a visit; you just might find your four-legged best friend! I certainly have!
