My home base is not in Oshawa, but the events of the past year have led to me staying in our Oshawa home for the time being. As such I was unfamiliar with the piano scene here, and who to contact for which service. Initially when I searched for a piano tuner for our Oshawa piano I just went with the first name that popped up on Google maps. It didn't cross my mind that any piano tuner could be egregious, and I've never had a bad experience in any of our homes. But I was wrong, the first random piano tuner was the single worst experience I have ever had. I only omit his name here out of sympathy, since he was so old I was genuinely concerned he was going to keel over in our home. The first guy didn't do his job, although I still paid his full price and then some since he shamelessly asked for it. Afterwards I had to research a second piano tuner to actually solve my problems. I came across Chris Andrew after doing more research, and right away was impressed by his professionalism. He was polite, he responded to my emails in a timely manner, he addressed all my concerns. On site he was punctual, polite and friendly, listened to my issues and solved the respective problems with my piano. Even my family commented on the difference in sound after he left. He made good and reasonable suggestions, charged a very reasonable fee, and the experience this time was a pleasure. I would highly recommend Chris Andrew to anyone. It pays to do your research, and meeting him was the result of deeper research. He is skilled and honest, polite and punctual, you will not be disappointed. I only wish I met him the first time.

I can't say enough about this experience. I had used Google to search for piano tuners. First one wanted too much and was unresponsive, the second one was booked to far out, then moving down the list I found Chris. He was easy to communicate with over email, available, and reasonably priced. He arrived at the time he said he would, and immediately I knew I made a good decision. He was friendly and animated but right down to work. He was familiar with the type of piano we had and diagnosed that maybe he shouldn't attempt to tune it. He had concerns about the age and the internals of the piano. He honestly tried to talk himself out of the work. I asked him to move forward anyways as the idea of buying/moving another one was worth a shot. He took about 45mins-ish and finished with a beautiful song. It sounds amazing and my wife and daughters are thrilled. I'm happy the old thing held up under his adjustments. On top of working this miracle he offered to discount his price since it went smoother than his expectation. I wouldn't accept his generosity and paid full price plus a tip. Making this beast functional again will have amazing repercussions in our family and fill the house again with beautiful sounds which is worth it. That said, even full price was still 100.00 cheaper than the original guy we contacted so it was a win win for everyone. If you need your piano tuned, diagnosed, or you are looking for someone to check out a new potential purpose, give him a call. Thanks Chris!
Great guy, great sense of humor. He really does his best to accommodate each pianos individual requirements in producing a desirable tone.
Fast, friendly, and talented service.
I have had the pleasure of having Chris tune our piano a few times. First, he is Uber skilled at doing so. Our piano was in need of serious tlc and he got our very old piano back to sounding great. I highly recommend him. I have recommended him to others and they were impressed too including our piano teacher who owns a beautiful grand piano.
