I adopted my dog Droopy from Dolores in late 2018. Very professional and caring about who the dog was going to end up with in the end. Droopy passed away from kidney failure after just shy of 2 years with me (literally undetectable on blood results 6 months before I got him so in no way was this Dolores's fault). He had the best life, best vet care and kidney food & meds. Worth every minute spent with him... What eats me up are some of the bad reviews...How can Dolores only be looking for money (one complaint I saw) yet refuse a dog to an outdoorsman who may have \other\ intentions for having a pet? These complaints contradict each other. Dolores is professional & stern only for the betterment of the dog's future wellbeing. If they are still rescuing dogs past 2020 then I recommend them and when ready, I would adopt an adult/mature dog from this rescue again. The adoption monies they receive do not even begin to cover the monies spent vetting and caring (fostering...) for the pets until they are adopted (I received all the papers to attest to this statement). Adopters are given ample time to see how the dog reacts to its new environment... The description of my dog by its foster was VERY ACCURATE. Fox Creek Animal Hospital cared for my dog extremely well. I met other A Dog's Dream Rescue adopters who use Fox Creek as well due to the trust in the veterinary clinic (Dr. Sandha and staff). I've been driving from Mississauga to Oakville just for the honest & hard working Doctor & staff at Fox Creek. I read all the negative reviews and I truly believe that most of the people complaining should not own dogs as they don't realize the service Dolores does for the dogs...thinking she's making big off the adoption charges, thinking she is stern for any other reason but the well being of the dogs... The only important thing here is finding a \forever home\ for these needy, loving animals.

The level of professionalism was lacking when a foster dog from this rescue badly attacked my dog. I found out later that the same dog that attacked mine, was returned to this shelter and fostered by another woman in Collingwood who was not given all the details of the dogs history and was subsequently also attacked and the dog had to be returned. It would be in the best interest of the animals here to be given to homes that have the full history of the animal and not mislead in order to give them the best chance to a good life.

I don't hate them. Just don't know them.

I bought a dog from the owner operator several years ago. Although I kept the dog and love him I am extremely resentful of the lies I was told about our dog. He was an foxhound cross and I was told was another breed. He had very problematic behaviours which were never disclosed. I would never participate in another agreement with this rescue. Mainly because you don't know we hat you are getting into and you will not be given an accurate understanding of the animal you want to adopt.

Amazing group of humans helping hound dogs. Our dog Jerry has been with us for three years now and we could not love him anymore.
