I took my MST with 1st gear last July. The instructors were brilliant and knowledgeable. Lionel and Canic make it seem so easy. The instructors are very friendly and patient. What I like about them is the fact that even though they were dealing with a bigger group, they were paying attention to every individual and were providing them with the feedback. Highly recommend. Talk to Lionel for tips to nail the road test.

Loved and enjoyed the course so much. Both Canic and Carol were amazing instructors! If you are new to motorcycle I highly recommend go through the course and learn from the professionals. You will learn safely, how to ride, how to choose ur bike, pass your Motor Skill Test, and get to meet new people. And there is no better place to learn than from 1st Gear Motorcycle School.
Best experience ever! Instructors were very bright and easy to talk to. I felt so nervous going in not knowing what to expect. I gave them a 5 star not only because each individual instructor was great, but also because the quality, time and effort they put into you makes the experience even more phenomenal! Great school, amazing teachers, what esle can you ask for? Highly recommended!
Great course with awesome instructors. How they scale up the skills makes it easy to learn. Many options available for bike selection. Fun times!
I had a great Experience Pat and Ted made a great duo. They made me far more comfortable and confident on a motorcycle. BEWARE OF THE SQUUEGEE MAN!
This is a great school. Classroom and riding days were filled with the information and excercises well beyond the ICBC booklets/requirements which is great for new riders. If your goal is to learn how to ride safely -- this is a school for you. They also have a good variety of bikes to try if you are not sure what kind of bike you would like to eventually get. Our instructors -- Christopher, Lionel and Theodore had an amazing chemistry, similar to that of the old Top Gear hosts. They (along with Lee who was there for the MSA) are some of the friendliest people you'll meet and have created a great environment for learning both off and on the bike. Despite having a large group of students at the beginning of a season, I feel that everyone was provided with the great feedback on their skills/progress/issues to address and opportunities to learn and practice. They also have some quality gear for sale at great prices, so if you don't have the time to go shopping before the class, reach out they may be able to help you.
1st Gear's teachers are top notch with lots of experience. They give lots of good feedback feedback and have created a very positive and effective learning environment. Can't recommend them enough. I feel like I have the tools that with practice will keep me safe on the road. Thanks guys!
I echo the very positive reviews that 1st Gear Motorcycle Training has - they are very good at what they do and are worth the money you'll spend with them. The theory classes are well presented and put together but are casual enough to relate to people of any age and riding experience. The practical portions are where this school/training really shine - there is a dedicated space, there is a wide variety of bikes to try and test on, and the instructors come from a place of true passion both for riding and for keeping the students safe. If you're looking for a new license, refresher training, to upgrade skills or to try something different, I highly recommend 1st Gear along with Lee, Lionel, Mel, Ben, Chris and Patrick.
