Best of both worlds...there is a nice paved section of the trail that leads along the lake, and for the brave at heart, it turns into a gravel trail around half way down the lake. Great place for young families and pets. Safe for children to try out their skateboard, ripstick, roller blades, etc skills.

Great for walks, you can even walk across the dam. Frisbee hockey course is fun. Free access to day area.

No swimming in the beach but a great playground and very quiet area. Free for day use. But you have to pay for camping. Camping section is totally seperate.

First time here, definitely not returning... But not completely the fault of the place. We got a \backcountry\ site, should be renamed \walk in site\. We are directly beside an active railway, it is so incredibly loud.. like a thunder storm is directly over top of us. The boats doing consistent speed runs is another annoyance. Wood costs an arm and a leg. Unless you want to carry bags in.

Day use area is free and contains many shady old Maple trees. There's a splash pad and playground near a tiny manufactured beach. Water quality warnings tell you not to swim or fish here, yet most people visiting are swimming or fishing. Lots of sailboats and kayaks on the weekend.
