Had a great time! Bring water shoes though if you have and plan on going in. Also very wavy but it's on Lake Winnipeg so that's a given. Would recommend!

The dog beach is great, some of the dog owners are terrible. If you're going to take your dog to the beach make sure you are watching your dog. Just because it's a off leash dog beach, doesnt mean it's a free for all and your dog should be allowed to roam all over.

This is a nice beach, but there are major problems with some of the owners and dogs that use it, especially weekends and peak times. Most of the owners and dogs are very nice. However there are some very large aggressive dogs who should not be off leash. I saw a toy poodle attacked fairly viciously, essentially hunted down. I also saw a golden retriever attacked, even though it became submissive, and then tried to run away. And the owner had no control over the attacking dog. I have gone to this beach about 30 times, and have seen at least 5 incidents. These were not play fights believe me, I've been going to off leash parks for many years and know the difference between aggressive play and attacks. And I have seen more potentially dangerous incidents at this beach than in my 30 years going to off leash parks in Winnipeg. Part of the problem may be the lack of space compared to off leash parks (the beach is long, but narrow), but it seems like some of the owners are less educated about dogs, and some of the dogs less well socialized compared to off leash parks. I still go but go at off peak times when it is mostly empty. I would definitely not take a smaller dog here unless it is watched carefully and on a leash.

Its nice to be able to bring your dog to the beach. I would recommend bringing water shoes. Its quite rocky and killed our feet.

Beach had lots of people but we're distancing. Very hard to find parking. Closer parking you need a park pass. Park parking close to beach very limited. If your bringing a lot of stuff. Best to have a wagon.

Great place to take your dog for swim. We spent 3 hours on a Saturday and had an awesome experience.

If you appreciate dogs, head to this beach. The people are friendly, the dogs were playful and no problem incidents with other dogs. The beach was clean and there was room for people to spread out and physically distance easily. The only setbacks were the biting black flies (bring strong repellant) and a warning of higher bacteria counts in the water. None of our party had any negative affects from the water. Very enjoyable experience overall.
