I wish to express my sincere gratitude to dr. shamisa. Recently underwent glioblastoma surgery with him. I am so very grateful to him and his team ,it was a very quick process with no waiting , everything was explained perfectly and what to expect when having this surgery he was dead on with what to expect. May allah continue to bless and watch over you sir ️
The surgery was great but the Post Op care is terrible. The Doctor only gave orders for 2 days of pain medication for post OP pain with a surgery requiring 1 to 4 weeks of medication. No one will refill the medication or make time to even assess for even a lower pain relief. They said to go to our family doctor who doesn't want to refill another doctor's order and who can't see us for a week. Called the ouellet campus neurosurgical out patient clinic as indicated by the answering machine for Windsor NeuroSurgical and Spine because no one answers and they told us not to call them they will not help us and were incredibly rude and refused to even schedule a follow up appointment which we were told to call and do at discharge. The post operative care is very poor. Our only option would be to sit in the ER or urgent care and risk infection but the pain in sitting in uncomfortable chairs for hours surrounded by infectious people with a neck incision seems not worth suffering through the pain at home. I suggest ensuring you have discussed and agreed on appropriate post op orders before ever having surgery or leaving the hospital because no one will help you after your home.
From 5 years of excruciating nerve pain in my neck (afraid to have surgery) to totally no pain upon waking after surgery. Dr. Shamisa is a gifted surgeon.
