I have been working with Mac Renovations for many years as a subcontractor. They treat their team and subs like family, and this shows in the attention to detail that each trade puts into each project. Clients come into our showroom saying great things about their interactions with their contacts at Mac Reno. Their projects are always well organized, with great attention to detail. Everyone working with them strives to provide the best products and service, and to live up to an expectation of high standards. I would not hesitate to hire them.

My experience with Ed and his team started out pleasant enough. I requested a quote/estimate for work on our deck, new kitchen, and new bathroom. During the initial consult it became apparent that their services would cost way more than our budget allowed for, so we decided to get a quote on our deck only, which we did. However, even the one project came back costing twice as much as other contractors' quotes, so we kindly told Ed we would not contract him. We then expected to be refunded the 1,500 retainer, or most of it. After a month and half of waiting, we made a couple of calls to their office when Ed finally signed a cheque with our refund. Little did we know that we would be charged for 8 hours of project management work at 85/hr; we were refunded less than 50% of the retainer, even though the only outcome from our interaction was a quote which didn't include contingency repairs. There were no drawings created, no designs, no permits sought. I’ve tried, but I cannot believe it took 8 hours to create a quote to redo a 20’x 20’ vinyl deck and rails, that the estimate we received was worth 780. We're glad that there are many satisfied customers who have used MAC renovations. If you’re looking for a contractor and have a very generous budget, then MAC is the one to go to. Just be aware of the initial 1,500 retainer which will not refunded in full if you decide to not contract them.
