My husband and I moved to a garden suite condo in James Bay, Victoria a few months ago. The patio was a mess (see the Before photo). My husband loves building rock walls so he did that work but we needed a beautiful pavingstone patio to go with it. We heard that Matt Haddow of Haddow Groundworks was excellent so we gave him a call. Matt came to see our place and gave us an estimate for time and cost. Out of 3 companies who we chose to do estimates Matt gave us the best estimate so we went with him. Oh my!!! Are we glad we did!. Matt and his crew were unbelievable!! "Outstanding work ethic and excellence" is their mantra! Matt and the team came promptly when he said they would (actually they were able to start even earlier than anticipated... YAY!), worked diligently and cleaned up beautifully before they left each day. They were able to complete the work in an amazingly short time. We were home the whole time (thanks COVID) and we were fascinated watching these guys work. They were joyful, worked hard and produced a work of art. As I always say "A great team is the result of excellent leadership." Matt is a perfect example of an excellent leader. Ours was not an easy project since the characterful rock wall was already in place and the patio needed to fit perfectly up to the wall. No problem for Matt and his crew!! The final product truly is a piece of art - functional art! (See the three After photos). If you are lucky enough to have Matt Haddow and his team come and do work for you you will not be sorry I can guarantee you that!! Thanks again Matt and crew! Brilliant work!!

We really wanted our new brick garden wall to stay in keeping with the feel of our 120 year old house, and Matt was able to accomplish this with style and grace! He tackled the challenging flemish brick bond that we chose with ease and was an absolute pleasure to work with. When he completed the job our neighbours actually told me that they missed him being around. What more can you say? Thanks Haddow Groundworks!
