Waterhound Futures is a predictive modelling and analytics solution, which simulates water and wastewater treatment plants to provide actionable insight to operators, engineers and management. The cloud-based software is being converted from an offline modelling and simulation system, which utilises a series of algorithms based upon first principles (physics, chemistry, engineering) and 25 years of design and manufacturing of wastewater treatment and remediation systems. Waterhound Futures’ predictive modelling and simulation system is advantageously neither technology nor industry specific. The system is used to model and predict the performance characteristics of both new plant designs and existing plants to ensure that the designs meet treated water discharge requirements. It also models the potential environmental risk/margin of safety available in the event of a failure of part of the treatment plant or an increase in contaminant concentrations entering the plant due operator error or equipment failure elsewhere on the site. Additionally, the software may be used to simulate and verify treatment plant design modifications so that the water can be repeatedly recycled and reused to minimise overall water consumption.
