We were seeing Ophthalmologist for my dog about 6 month. He had glaucoma due to sepsis. We thought he would lose his eye but doctor saved his eye( eye sight was gone already before seeing doctor). He passed away last month and we received card from them. I barely see worker there n never seen doctor bc Covid protocol but I am so touch and appreciated they are thinking about Niko n us. Thank you so much for caring n your work.

I think it really depends on who you get here. My contact with the doctors and admin staff was positive; they seemed to be professional and happy to explain what was going on to owners. However, they failed to look further than common puppy ailments, sending us home with an ill-fitting cure for very sick dog who ended up in Langley ER a few days later. The price is so steep for pet care, and they are family for most owners, so my hope would be that clinics invest in specialists or work more in veterinary teams with multiple specialties.

Good place to spend a ton of money. Never felt like they cared about my dog and they have a revolving door of specialists so you rarely see the same one. Prices are higher here than anywhere else. If you want options or a second opinion on eye care I've had a MUCH better experience at Western Canada Veterinary in New West. Worth the drive.

My 3rd Update : July 7, 2019 : Unfortunately, even after sharing my complaints there has been no concern for the health of my dog. A few weeks ago an appointment was made with a physical therapist -- an appointment I drove for 45 minutes only to be told by this therapist that she needed to refer to another specialist and would get back to me. I've heard nothing. At this point, nobody has been in touch with me in regards to my dog, who needs some form of therapy, and a proper diagnosis, which I have been fighting for (not just from VCA) --- for over 2 years. There is no indication from this hospital that they care about the well-being of my dog. It's shocking to have to scream from the rooftops to be be heard, and yet still be ignored. Sadly my dog can't speak so it's up to me to get him the help he needs. I've had emails ignored from the hospital and the head office, in addition, I have spoken to the manager. Who remains? Cornell University is available everyday for consulting, to no avail. I guess I'll have to take this to higher ground. Ethics matter.

We had to take our 10 year old Boston Terrier to VCA twice this past year for different reasons, and the quality of the service was exceptional both times. The staff and doctors here provide the most knowledgeable and compassionate EMERGENCY and SPECIALTY medical attention for your pets, and was well worth every penny I paid for my sweet boy. Thank you to all of the doctors and staff at VCA, you are truly making a difference!
