Decades ago my widowed mother and I used to volunteer at this place for their xmas dinners to help out the needy. Afterwards we would head home, eat xmas dinner and open presents. Angels and heroes come in all forms and not all get paid nor wear 911 uniforms. We were humbled to help and give back to the community far before the glut of drug addicts and criminals that pollute streets and roam the alleys in 2020 and beyond to make Vancouver increasingly dangerous with discarded needles, excrement and graffiti, sad..

Didn't know they put a Soviet Russian genetic code on them to wait for porus food all day, in cold and long lines. They need water and exercise, fat but \starving\. Even the workers are fat to lead by example.

These are a joke compared to Toronto shelter systems I've worked for. Pure Sugar for food and no food ethics.

#1 healthiest free meal in Vancouver! Low income, Disability, Mental Health and Addictions. Anyone who could use meal can sustain themselves here! UGM (Union gospel mission) has even more meals available and hours are better equipped to help working poor waiting for first cheque! Thanks Salvation Army for feeding more people than anyone else in North America! The line is pretty horrid and hymns can be a little annoying but may be helpful to many during wait to get in, 4 stars! for long wait time.

the indifference.

Offers emergency shelter, food for the homeless. Povides social assistance, addiction services and housing. End Homelessness, a simple mission statement, very difficult and can be ugly in actuality, but the Sally Anne are very experienced in this field (obviously), and they try their best to meet an increasing need in the midst of an opiod and homelessness epidemic in East Van.
