Steven has known me since I was 12 years old and I'm 33 years old now. I have never been to a shop where I felt more confident in the information that I've been given about my instruments but I bring him. He's extremely knowledgeable about different models of instruments and makers and a wealth of knowledge about historical facts as well. Steven takes a lot of time with all of his clients so I have no problem with waiting a little bit for him to finish up talking. He's very social and enjoys chatting and I love listening to his stories. His setups are great for the instruments, my family has been using his services for the past 20 years with no complaint

Steve is very helpful and willing to provide advice about modifying or restoring violins. He's very modest about accepting payment for parts. He's quite funny, and has a wealth of industry knowledge. I believe he favours restoring and selling in-house, quality violins, rather than fixing cheap instruments.

Steve may have a big heart but he also has the biggest mouth in the world. He made me and my son wait an hour while he chatted up the customer in front of us. Ridiculous I have never been treated so rudely by a shop keeper in my life.
