This family owned Frozen Dim Sum maker (and soon to have hot take out) has been my go to place. This heritage business (since 1990) with a program from the City of Vancouver, has allowed the owner William and sister Susan to upgrade and continue their family business*. Just recently renovated and re-opened Feb 8, 2021 they are back and I was down there to get my supply of their goods I missed since their closing in November 2020. A vast assortment of many staple dim sum dishes are available for purchase. Most items are under 10/package so they are very reasonable compared to others. Quality is excellent, better than many local dim sum restaurants around town. Steam and eat at home. Cash & credit payment is available. Paid meter street parking is here or there is a parkade close by. Sanitizer upon entry, social distance. Happy steaming & Enjoy! My grandmother use to come here to buy their BBQ pork buns. It was the best to my memory of the take-home and steam variety that rivals restaurant quality. Came today to check out the new changes. Take out was not available yet. Large selection of frozen dimsum. Bought a large variety of buns and dimsum. Highlights, shrimp dumpling Har gao definitely restaurant quality. The BBQ pork buns are on point. There's the small and large size which is good for snack sizes. I would definitely come back to come support this Chinatown classic store. I went in the morning and it was not very busy. I can imagine now that there's cooked food that it can get busy. One added value thing that I noticed and appreciated. They add a quick instruction on rough time it takes to steam the item on the label which doesn't always happen with other brands.

Love stopping by here for some take out dim sum! It's quick and simple to order, and they offer affordable frozen dim sum as well. It's 4 per order (items come with 3-4 pieces), very reasonable! I don't have a problem with the dim sum options at places like T&T, but Kam Wai is better in quality and value. My favourites are the beef ball and shrimp dumplings!

The food is taste very good quality and the prices are fair and way better then with other charges. The only reason I gave a 2 star is because I went a few weeks ago, during the pandemic I notice they are not following the \Covid customer safety\. They didn't sanitize the buggies after each person finish using it or wipe down the card machine after each use. This is a huge problem since it can cause cross contamination if one person has the covid virus and touches the card machine and buggy, everyone who touches it after that person will be contaminated. They should be better with the sanitization to keep everyone safe. If they don't tighten their Covid sanitization someone will eventually report them. Lets hope they change their ways because I love their food!!!!!
