I don't live in Vancouver so I wasn't aware of what a good watch service felt like! Living on Vancouver Island has given me the impression that getting a watch serviced can cost me my left arm while taking months for a basic Servicing while receiving frequent calls from the watchmaker giving me \unexpected issues.\ I've even waited as long as a week for a simple estimate here on the island which was quite obviously a fake estimate as I could tell the watchmaker hadn't even opened the case back. German watchmaker called me quickly after receiving my watch with a very fair estimate and lots of information. My watch was fully restored with multiple Parts replaced WITHIN A WEEK! I couldn't believe it. The original price estimated was exactly what I paid which I thought couldn't be done! A very decent and extremely knowledgeable professional.

Norbert is one of BC's last true watchmakers. Always top notch work and excellent service. I recently had my Rolex GMT 2 in for a complete overhaul. Norbert was professional and really quite fast. The crown on my watch will need replacing soon and Norbert was more than happy to give me all the info needed to source a new one. He even called me the following week to see if the watch was still keeping time and working to my liking! You don't find many business owners like The German Watchmaker anymore! Bring your timepieces in and enjoy this Vancouver gem while it's still here! I hope for many more years to come! Thank you again Norbert!

I went to his store to get some advice on a 1953 Tissot watch. He told me what I needed to hear. Seems like a very honest guy. Will bring him my business if the need arises.

I went to the German watch maker to repair my stopped automatic watch. I expected to leave the watch at the store, but Norbert took it apart and fixed it right away. I left with a functioning watch, and some good watch advise. I was recommended to go here by a jeweller friend, who had used The German watchmaker in the past. It was good advice. Norbert is friendly, extremely professional, and I recommend him without hesitation.

Norbert is the real deal. I trust him 100% with everything from my quartz beater to my higher end pieces. Before discovering him, I took a quartz watch with a leaking battery to the Bay for a quote. They told me it would have to be sent back East for a complete overhaul that it would cost north of 175. I declined. Years later I took it to Norbert, he cleaned and serviced it and had it up and running in 15 min...And the bill was well under 50. I then handed him with confidence my family's heirloom mechanical pieces for complete servicing and overhaul: Omegas, girard perregaux, etc. Honesty, professionalism, friendliness and bonafide expertise. True Watchmakers are a dying breed, and we are fortunate to have him in our city.
