Terrible service. Was suppose to get my sofas picked up 3 times. It was a no show, no phone call and then a belligerent response from the owner Oscar when I called him to see what was going on. I guess they don't need the business
like
a satisfying experience. As i would be out of country in a few days Oscar Zuniga and his team got right to it and all done to my satisfaction before i left
Great experience walking in, and lining up the job. Very poor customer service throughout the job...I was even yelled at by one of the employees whom I'd never met prior, as I walked in one day, and apparently had been working on my job from the start. Over the phone he said he was the owner....I still don't know. Lots of lies from my point of contact, who I understood was doing the work, but wasn't. There ARE skilled people here. I believe it was the well mannered Asian women in the back that actually sewed everything! Fortunately the end product was pretty close to what I paid for. Too bad everything else about the job was shadowed by the \yes man\ I was dealing with...and it took way longer than it should have. The guy who yelled at me, I put him in his place right away...explaining how unprofessional that was and how he'd obviously been lied to by my contact, about me. If you plan to get work done here, expect a rocky road.
This is some of the worst work I have ever seen. I had my last 2 chairs done here 6 years ago, and decided to bring my other 2 in last week. New owner, new staff.... terrible work. Not to mention I got a parking ticket while waiting.
Oscar at Cooks Upholstery did a fantastic job with 2 mid-century modern Dux chairs from Sweden. Not only did Oscar complete the job within the timeline he provided, he did the job on budget. Previous to Cooks having these chairs another Vancouver upholsterer had these chairs for over 1 YEAR and did not complete any of the project. We were hesitant to contact Cooks due to some other google reviews. I am glad friends in the design community suggested Cooks, as it was the best choice in Vancouver. Oscar took the time to hand stitch many of the finer details retaining the original design, more complicated work than other upholsterers will even willing to take on. 5 stars.
