Went for a facial and microdermabrasion package as part of a group buy. I was really looking forward to treating myself and have enjoyed facials in the past. The reason I'm writing this review is because I don't want anyone to go here with high expectations. What I paid is what I got - and I want my 39 back. I can't imagine paying whatever full price is for the services I received here. The space is nice, and the room where I received my treatment appeared clean and was lit with candles and had soft relaxing music playing. The woman at Tula who did my facial was pleasant but was clearly not a trained esthetician. She did not use products that were appropriate for my skin type - I asked what she was using on my face and all she said was that 'it is good, natural". She did not cleanse or rinse (!) my face properly and used harsh exfoliant that I had to ask her to stop using. I found out after the facial that she had used Burt's Bees, a cheap(and harsh) product you can pick up at Shoppers Drug Mart! At least BB is natural I guess...Anyway, the towels she used to wipe my face were rough and didn't smell great and I was about to get up and give up before my microdermabrasion when she applied the face mask which was actually nice and not too drying. The microdermabrasion was fine, but the technician focused on areas that didn't really make sense to me - like instead of spending time on my t-zone and where fine lines around my mouth and eyes, she focused on the outside of my nostrils, and below my mouth, almost like she was focusing on the areas where it was easiest for her to rest her hand. When we were finished she wiped some of the dust from the treatment away with her hand but didn't do a thorough job so I was left to pick flakes off my skin. She did remind me to stay out of the sun which i appreciated. In terms of results on my skin, I noticed some slight benefits but not nearly as much 'glow' as I've noticed after a good spa facial.
