A neighbourhood institution. Excellent food - tasty with hearty portions. We've mostly visited for brunch - the Southern Breakfast may be my favourite brunch dish in the neighbourhood. Recently had the shrimp and grits, which held up well as a takeaway meal. Our last takeout experience wasn't ideal as our food was quite late (and we were repeatedly given overly optimistic time estimates) - but we all have to be a bit more patient in these pandemic times.

Decided to travel 40 minutes to try this restaurant out at the recommendation by someone at BlogTo. Business has been slow due to the pandemic. The salmon and lamb shank was excellent. Garlic mashed potatoes and perfectly cooked vegetables.
The only reason it's not five stars is that there was a half-hour delay getting it ready - which they were VERY apologetic about, and of course it IS pandemic time, so timing is hard for a restaurant. Anyway. FABULOUS Cajun dinner. I had jambalaya, which was terrific and more than I could finish, and coleslaw (again, a generous serving). The hubby had ribs/chicken/sausage, and a beet salad, and gumbo, and finished up with apple pie. Everything was hot despite the delay, fresh, just great. Highly recommended. A real treat to have Cajun for a change!
Was a long drive to get there for takeout order and a long drive back before we could enjoy the fare. Hopefully, once COVID restrictions are lifted and we can resume dine-in again, I could report a better review.
Went for brunch on a Sunday morning. Ambiance is nice. Food is not bad, good portions and flavour throughout. Only complaint was that service was a bit slow (even with only 3 occupied tables). Nice small patio section if you're interested in that.
Fantastic food as always, even during these difficult pandemic times. I really appreciate the paper packaging - honestly the best food packaging I've seen and really happy about the recyclable material! Thank you Chef Derrick, all the best, and hang in there!
Excellent food! Ordered takeout from Roux for the first time tonight. Catfish was delicious and perfectly cooked. Potato rosti and greens were perfect. Also came in compostable packaging! Will definitely be going back.
Tried the brunch today and our family of 3 absolutely loved the pancakes and fruit. The service was wonderful also. Looking forward to trying the burger soon!
