A number of Ontario’s specialty community legal clinics along with the Association of Community Legal Clinics of Ontario formed the co-operative, seeking to: - Promote information exchange and creativity; - facilitate additional training opportunities; - enhance impact through collaboration; - increase research capacity; - improve response to province-wide mandates; - increase the efficiency of administrative systems opportunities; - enable collective investment in improved information technology; - reduce overall costs; - ultimately offer more effective and innovative client services; and - raise collective voice for social justice. Although the co-operative is a collective body formed by union of efforts, all participating clinics have maintained their independency and incorporated status, and remain governed by their respective board of directors.
