Staffs are always nice. They advise you which dish is good for your mood and how amount paella has. Their original paella is really good and it's better for 23 people for share. Patio is also nice.

Don't be misguided by the first exterior impression of this place. Price is not light, but the food isn't your typical dish you can eat anywhere else. I loved their main tapas (bass with octopus with ink). Appetizers are quite pricey and not quite unique, but main is definitely worth it. Seafood is pretty good quality for Toronto (If you're looking for quality of seafood same as restaurants by coast, def don't expect it too much). They have pretty cool beer mixed with lemonaid. Staff was extremely friendly, gave us a free service dessert when we told them our friends just got married. Interior is warm and cozy, great to add wine and have a fancy dine out for a special night.
Oh, Carmen! Carmen’s tapas and paellas are just WOW. Infused with spices, flavors and love, they deliver a dining experience that triggers the mind and senses. Carmen is tasty, visual and truly delightful in every bite, sip, look and noise. The restaurant starts with a long bar right at the entrance, leading to a spacious indoor area and a very cozy terrace open during warmer months.
Delicious and authentic Spanish paella. The portions are quite large, I would say one order (we ordered the seafood paella) can feed 3-4 people. They also have in house bread and olive oil which is an additional 4 (not complimentary). Small restaurant so I would recommend reservations during weekends.
Carmen is a constant favourite of mine and every time I go back, it puts a smile on my face. Thank you to Chef Luis for your tireless quest to make the perfect Paella. Since my partner is vegetarian, we get the barley veggie paella every time and it's never a let down. Meat eaters and veggie lovers rejoice when it's at the table. The corn with cheese is also top of list. And those shrimp.... damn. Finger. Licking. Good. The brussels sprouts have changed my mind about those stunted cabbage and turned them into tiny morsels of happiness. The bruschetta is a nice way to start your meal and the potatoes bravas is a great accompaniment to anything else at the table. The only thing I've ever ordered that didn't blow me away was the skirt steak. It was very good. But everything else is over-the-top good, so it paled in comparison.
First time to this establishment. And it was a great night to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. The food was awesome and beer went down great. The staff was awesome since we change 74% of the Faro dish so that it was to our liking. Really appreciated that. Thanks for a great night Carmen.
The braised short rib and humus cauliflower tapas were out of this world. Flavours were rich but not too rich. Very innovative cuisine. Paella is phenomenal — smokey and fresh. Friendly service. Warm and lively yet classy atmosphere and decor.
I met the owner of the restaurant at a show, and made sure it’s a owned by a Spaniard. We finally went there for dinner. We sat outside, in the patio area - very beautiful and quiet considering it’s downtown. All the good we had were amazing. We started with some tapas and ordered Paella Carmen. We had the following tapas; short ribs, skirt steak, bacon wrapped dates, ceviche - they were all excellent. Well worth another trip there.
