I donated blood for the very first time at this location! The experience went exactly as I expected based on what I had read online, and throughout the process every staff I interacted with was friendly and patient. I want to give a huge thank you to Lilette, who was the nurse that actually administered the donation! She made me feel comforted and taken care of, and answered all of my questions. I will absolutely return!

First of all I'd like to say that i love donating blood, the fact of giving blood to a random person and it's going to be useful for them makes me feel really good. It's my first time donating in Canada and I'd like to say that it was great, when i arrived i had to register and i got a cute "Be nice to me, I'm new!" sticker. After registering i did a 5 min questionnaire. After that i went to a room where i got my blood pressure and my middle finger poked to check if my immune system was above 130 and as it was 156 i passed woohoo. I left the room and before i sat on the waiting room a staff member came to me and asked me if i was ready. They gave me a foam ball and wrapped my arm in order to make my vein came out. I also asked the lady what was the difference in between donating platelets and regular blood and she was super nice. She gave me the whole explanation about platelets and even about the blood plasma. Now I know that it's more useful to donate blood rather than platelets or plasma. So vampire needle showed up and waited for about 15 minutes until it sucked all the blood it needed from me (500 milliliters). After that they gave me a cotton patch and had to press it down for about 5 minutes and then got an "I gave blood" band aid and asked me to go to the tables that are by the entrance the tables have a tray with cookies and fruit cocktail. They offered me apple or orange juice and gave me a blood drop shape pin for donating there for the first time. All the staff is great, the washrooms are super neat!. Thanks to all the staff for making this location a great place to donate.

Staff and nurses were very friendly and helpful during the whole process. When I started feeling woozy towards the end, five or six nurses came to my aid with wet towels, a water bottle and fan, and stayed with me until I was better. Definitely drink more water the day of your appointment and the days after, eat right before and keep snacking throughout the days, and most importantly, take it easy and listen to your body. Will be coming back in three months!

So, they call me to donate blood in the midst of covid-19, so I figure they're in need.. I bundle up in a hoodie, shirt and jacket and man the subway to get there.. I warm up easily, and when I got to the clinic (which I travelled to in the concourse path), I was warm, and my temperature was high - I asked if I could take my jacket off and get retested in 5 minutes, and they said their policy is to only test temperature once. I came home and took my temperature 3 times in 30 minutes (forehead and ear), and all came back normal.. What a waste of time.

The nurses at this location are always so loving and make me feel welcome, and calm through the whole process. Big shout out to Samantha on Sunday. She was absolutely wonderful. I have very small, deep veins and she was honest with me the whole time. We only got about 1/3 of a bag before the needle clotted, but she never gave up on me dispite how difficult the process was. It was genuinely a good experience and I will be back to try again in a few months!

I did my first blood donation here last January this year, because I've decided to finally make it a tradition for me to donate blood even if I am really scared of needles. During my first visit, the staffs were really nice, kind, and considerate about not letting me see the needle that was inserted in my arm. The same goes on my second time donating blood as well. It was quite different than the first one, but they've really taken great precaution and safety measures to ensure the donors and the staffs well being by having the donors and staffs maintain social distancing, and by putting hand sanitizers throughout the vicinity of the place. This location has been my favorite location ever since, and next month, I'll be donating blood here once again. I might visit the other centers and give some feedback as well.
