I sat in one of Marvin Karon's On-Camera Workshops a few months ago and after auditing one class I immediately sent him an email and asked for semi-private lessons. I also attended his next On-Camera Workshop for the month of August. I had such a great experience! I came from a hosting background so what I thought was a ormal\ tone and energy was actually too much for on-camera acting. Marvin helped me adjust and taught me how to trust the camera and really see my partner. During class, I noticed how much my classmates improved after Marvin gave his suggestions from rehearsal to final take. EVERYONE got better as the weeks went by. Our workshop just ended last week, but I am still signing up for semi-private classes with Marvin. He really made me see the value of continuously working on your craft.

Marvin reinforced techniques that I had learned in school and exposed me to other techniques and information that would help me become a better actor. I looked forward to receiving my sides from him and working in class. There were things I wouldn't think of when preparing my script that he would suggest that added onto the stakes and interest of my character to make the scene more believable and interesting. I would recommend anyone to take a class with Marvin. You will definitely get your money worth.

Marvin is fantastic at working with the actor. He allows for open interpretations while also sharing his insight to the material. Marvin also strikes a great balance between providing constructive feedback but also credit where it's due. Many, including myself, feel strong improvement from week one to week four. I highly recommend Marvin's On Camera classes.

I trained with Marvin for about 5 years prior to moving to L.A. I can say without a doubt that he is the go-to acting coach in Toronto. The most incredible thing about Marvin is his ability to analyze scripts. He is a master detective. There would be scenes I had spent countless hours on, analyzing the subtext and tactics involved with my character. I would hand the text to Marvin and tell him the discoveries I had made, and in less than one minute of him looking over the page he would have a barrage of new ideas and discoveries that I simply missed. This comes from his wealth of knowledge about the medium of the camera and the artistry involved behind acting. His class is also perfect for actors with strong Theater backgrounds that are seeking to transition off of the stage, and learning how to make compelling story-telling come to life in front of the camera. Where Marvin really stood out to me, was in his selfless care about his students' progress in their careers as actors. He went out of his way several times to make a phone call to people involved in my career to vouch for me and my abilities as an actor. \Acting 4 the Camera\ is something Marvin holds very dear - he cares about the success of the students that come out to train with him and he cares about the quality of the class. That, combined with his own skill as an actor and his ability to teach the knowledge that he possesses, creates for the best acting class in Toronto. Marvin has also been an inspiration outside of the acting world - he is one of the most honest and noble human beings on this planet, and he cares about making the world a better place. And that is definitely a feat for anyone pursuing a career in the harsh entertainment industry, especially after such a long time. But Marvin has kept his honor. Thank you for everything you have done Marvin. You have always been an inspiration to me!

Marvin Karon, there are countless of positive things that I have to say. Words cannot express how much I adore being apart of his classes. I have taken numerous of acting classes before taking Marvin's classes. I have studied in many different drama schools, taken endless acting classes and I couldn't stop thinking what a valuable training I received from Marvin. Moreover, I am convinced that this class is well suited for any level of training or any method style actor. Here at his studio and his teaching style, he is up to date to scenes, on camera training, in real shooting situations and much more. You get to work hard and see how you progress and the feedback from Marvin and the students were always very helpful for every individual. Marvin is the type of person who really cares and will spend the time and effort on developing my acting skills up to little nuances, and he was able to allocate his time and effort to every student in class effectively. He is one of the most creative person I have ever met during my lifetime in my acting hobby. Marvin is beyond anyone can ask for as an acting teacher.
