I was sad that zaphods closed down but I'm glad they renovated and made the 27 club. It doesn't quite have the rustic feel of zaphods but some of the elements are still there. It is nice and the renovations were done right to make the place seem even bigger. Nice job!
Love what they've done with this space. Alot more open now with some nice seating. Beer selection is ok and cocktails are nice. Lighting setup is good but the sound system is really lacking. It's in need of a serious upgrade. Would love to see this place host more electronic music.
Usually music is just OK, but theme nights can be a lot of fun. Bar staff is super friendly but drinks are on the expensive side. Dance floor is big enough for the place, no much sitting space so be there early if you want a booth
Good club. Decent size dance floor. Fast bar service and reasonably priced drinks.
Great place to go and see one of your favourite bands or performers. The stage isn't huge, but the pit/dancefloor space is surprisingly big. No food is served (at least when I've gone on band nights) but the drinks are cold, cheap, and delicious. The bathrooms could always be a little cleaner, but if you're looking for an affordable venue to see live music look no further.
Never been but found out the hard way they don't refund tickets even if they cancel an event! Will never go now!
Big shoes to fill after taking over the building that housed one of the most reknowned Ottawa music bars. After checking out a couple events at 27 and meeting the new owners, I am happy to say that I think they are going to do the space justice. Lots of great shows coming up too. I'll be sure to be back to see what's going on.
