Great place to hike, if you want to go for a long walk. You can also ride your bike on the trails as well. I went there hiking for a couple of hours and had a picnic with my dogs. We didn't even make it all the way around within that time, just turned around and came back. It does cost money to use the trails. Although there is no supervision on the trails. We went on a Sunday afternoon, we saw quite a few people with their dogs, people on bikes, even dirt bikes(not sure if that's allowed) and hikers. But we were alone mostly.

Great trails for biking but it looses a star due to the cost of day passes

Skirting the shoreline of Fanshawe Lake and waterways was a clever choice for this trail. It allows for passer-bys to look onto the lake to see what nature is up to while staying concealed by greenery. Bike trails and hike trails intertwine from time to time but doesn't seem to cause any inconvenience. There are some hills and a good amount of access points to the lake. The trails are kept, clean and easily explored. As a point of observation, life preserves are scarely distributed along the trail and sparingly seen on the shore but while hiking, I didn't feel any concerns for safety. I would recommend this trail for reflection and inspiration. The transition from shrubbs, to hills, to grass and to tall evergreens allows the mind to wonder a bit. Dogs will appreciate this trail also. Signs recommend leashes for the dog but I could see it challenging for any dog owner to resist the temptation of letting their dogs loose...even for a few points on the trail.

Beautiful walk but way too expensive for passes. Especially when doesn't have any actual staff. To claim it maintains area is B.S. hikers, bikers ect...keep paths clear. Lots of garbage at some of entrances. It's a shame people don't really care and their high fees apparently don't get used very often for cleanups. We go elsewhere...
