When I jam with Teague, and play a wrong note, but it sounds kinda good, Teague knows why, and can tell me how to do it on purpose next time. That's indispensable when I'm getting bored/uninspired with my own playing. Music theory is vast and complicated, so it's hard to know where to start. Teague shows me the theory relevant to the specific song I'm currently working on, which opens up ways to modify the song and make it my own. I didn't know theory could be this engaging.
