So far my son has received great care and attention in a personalized way. We have received tangible feedback and communication as well as progress updates. It is early days, but I do see the initial signs of improvement in his reading and literacy. His confidence seems to be rising incrementally and we like where things are heading. He seems engaged with the helpers at Sylvan. Only reason Im not at a 5 Star yet is because its early on in the journey and we will see how things carry on.

We are so thankful to have found Sylvan Learning of SW Calgary. After the initial meeting, both my daughter and I left feeling utterly relieved that we had taken this step to help her prepare to write the SATs. The communication from day one has been superb as our emails and questions were answered quickly. COVID has brought a lot of unpredictability, but Sylvan was always willing to be flexible and adjust my daughter's lessons to fit her ever changing schedule. As the lessons progressed, we saw our daughter's confidence begin to grow as she learned new skills and strategies and when areas of concern crept in, we were able to openly communicate these and have always felt heard. Thank you Karyn, Christian and the Sylvan Team for helping to make a daunting test less stressful for our daughter and giving her the skills and confidence she needs to do her best!

Both my daughter attend Sylvan. The youngest daughter had switched from French immersion to traditional school because she was struggling in both languages which translated into all her other subjects. When she first got assessed prior to starting the 2018-2019 school year, she was assessed at a grade 3 level in English when she was entering grade 6. She started going to Sylvan SW 4 days a week, 2 hour sessions and we drive from Panorama Hills to take her there. She also got assessed just before Christmas for Math and she was also at a grade 3 level. Currently, she’s now doing grade 7 lesson in English and grade 5 math. She’s improved so much her teachers have commended her and calls her the star student. She used to get upset in Math but now she’s coming home and telling me she’s get 100% on her tests and quizzes. She’s built so much confidence and you can definitely see her attitude change when it comes to school. I’m so thankful for the staff and Karyn for guiding us along. I am so happy my daughter doesn’t feel defeated all the time and am delighted to hear how well she is doing now. I would definitely recommend Sylvan SW to anyone.
