Great location, staff very helpful and caring, and we feel so comfortable leaving our little guy in their care, which is a big deal for first time parents!

We have been a part of Smilestones for the past 3 years as both of my children have attended this amazing preschool. I literally can't say enough about this place and have recommended it to many other families in the community. The facility itself is impressive. It is spacious, bright, and clean with lots of natural light, large classrooms, indoor play area, a gym, and an art room. It is filled with interesting and natural toys and materials that are rotated often. The owner is very attentive and knowledgeable and the teachers are always enthusiastic, kind, and creative. My children are eating vegetables now thanks to their healthy meals they provide. The uniform is a nice touch and has made getting ready in the morning much easier. Thank you, Smilestones, for providing such a wonderful place for my children to learn and grow!

Great location, okay staff, not a pleasant atmosphere overall. Teachers are very good at complaining instead of correcting (or atleast trying different ways) their behavior towards kids. it does not do anyone any favor when a toddler is often singled out and punished. The talented staff in Smilestone starts conversation in negative manner. Positive reinforcement is not in their dictionary. No cooperation for drop off, not welcoming. Star is definitely for the location and few passionate young staff.

I'm what many would call a helicopter mom. I was very hesitant to enrol my son (which was about two years ago) at any centre because I feared for the worst. Two years later I am so glad that I made the decision to enrol my son into JK2 at Smilestones South Surrey because I have only positive things to say about this centre. Any time there were particular hiccups along the way - they were addressed in a collaborative and reasonable manner. Smilestones has been a huge pillar of support for not only my children's development but I've found it to be a nurturing and welcoming environment for myself as well. Good hearted people who are born to be in the profession they're currently doing come few and far between and that is the experience I've had with my daughter in JK1 and my son in JK3. The genuine care, patience, and level of expertise is the reason I feel content dropping my kids off here everyday. I know my kids are receiving the best care and junior kindergarten education so I have the peace of mind that I can trust this centre and the teachers to do their best with each and every student.

Policies are rigid. Teacher support from administration is low. The way staff deal with separation anxiety is abhorrent (I blame the administration for lack of guidance on this). If you were excited about the Reggio Emilia philosophy and approach to childcare, you will be disappointed with inconsistencies. Finally, the uniforms are just an unnecessary cost to an already expensive centre. My star is for the teachers who do their best and work very hard everyday, you have the most important job in the world.
