I usually love supporting local and would give a 5 star review for all of my other experiences. However, today I have called upwards of 10 times during their opening hours as I was in a rush to purchase a particular product/see if they had it in stock. There was no answer for any of my attempts. Luckily, I was able to avoid the hour walk there and back because I was given a ride. Upon arriving, I had entered with another customer. The phone rang once while we were there, the lady working had ignored it, it rang a second time and she answered finally. The other customer had mentioned after the phone call that she was also unable to get hold of them all day, the lady working stated she usually does answer the phone when there isn't a lot of people there (There was only 2 of us) and apparently we had both been calling and were unable to get ahold. I hadn't mentioned anything while there but after thinking about it a bit I wanted to leave a review stating that I am disappointed that it seems she had been ignoring the phone all day, like I said I called a load of times before making the trip there and was answered with a voice mail (not the busy tone) and had almost assumed the store was closed before I was offered a ride to make sure. This is unprofessional, and I believe answering the phone should be given a higher priority, especially considering they may not have had the product I was looking for and a trip there could have been avoided all together if that was the case. (Luckily I found what I was looking for.) Like I said, I am always very happy to support a local business and will continue to do so. I hate to assume she was ignoring the phone all day however during my trip there my observations imply that (as she was not busy when ignoring the first call) and in the future it would be greatly appreciated if phone calls were given a higher priority.

I placed 2 separate orders online. The first took over a week to pack/ship and was missing an item. The store attached the same tracking number for the second order so it shows as delivered but has not arrived. There was a period of time when I was unable to reach anyone and my emails were going unanswered but I’ve since spoken to someone and it seems the error is being resolved and so I’ve revised this review to reflect my experience. They do a really nice job of packing up orders and the wool was wrapped to protect it from moisture in shipping.

Very welcoming, nice lay out. Found what I went for. Very friendly and knowledgeable lady. Wide variety of specialty and everyday yarns. Quality accessories for all you need for knitting/crocheting. Good selection of buttons.

Very helpful and pleasant under new ownership. Great stock. Big plus was Jake wound my skein on their winders. I'll definitely be back.

From the welcoming chairs out front to finding the netting fork I’d been looking for here and talking with Deidre about making hairpin lace, it was a lovely visit to this dedicated little shop. If we ever get to St. John’s again, Wool Trends will be at the top of my do list. (Pat from PA)
