Also toured the Commisariat's House dating back to the 1700's. They had bean counters back then. Lot of history here. Place has been kept in great shape.

Nice visit. We were lucky to be alone in the house with the guide, so we had a really interesting tour. We were also able to taste ginger beer made by one of the guides. The house is very well preserved and well maintained. Since the cost of entry is included in the Newman Vaults entry, this was like a free visit for us. If you have time it is worth taking a tour.... I also included a picture of the ginger beer recipe for those interested... it was really good!!

Amazing and wonderful experience would highly recommend doing this with family. The carols, mummers, hot chocolate and cider was a wonderful treat. Had so much fun

We have made this a family tradition, to visit this house and experience Christmas the way it was back then. This year, however, wasn't as entertaining as the years prior, and there was less acting. The kitchen scene was by far the best they had to offer, and was very enjoyable.

Had a wonderful visit to The Commissariat House yesterday. Wonderful to see the house and Anne provide excellent interpretation of the time period and artifacts! Could have spent hours there reliving the history...
