Donated a few times. staff is always friendly and quick to react if goes wrong. for example after my donation today i started to feel faint and disoriented. they were quick to get a bed for me, ice packs/fan on my body and made sure I was ok before leaving. FYI for other reviews saying that "untrained and unqualified" people are running the show. I asked them and I was told the only volunteers are in the snack/resting area and the person on the front reception desk. everyone else is a trained medical professional. can't speak for all staff but ever time I donate i ask them how long they have been doing this. the lowest experienced person i talked to had 5 years under there belt.

I donated at this place before a few times and had positive experience. But yesterday my visit wasn't so pleasant. It was painful like never before. My arm was numb and hand overall was kind off red-purple-ish. And the worth is that the nurse tried to convince me that I am just overreacting because I am scared of blood(even though I was not scared). I have donated before, I know how it usually feels. Otherwise, staff is super friendly
I just got butchered @ Canadian Blood Services in St. John's NL and I doubt I will be donating blood any more. I don't know if the woman who jabbed the needle in me was a Nurse or what if any qualifications she had. I knew from the start that it was going to be unpleasant. It was the worst time ever and when she couldn't get a blood flow I told her to remove the needle and I am out of here. Now I have a ping pong ball size lump in my arm and sure enough some serious bruising to follow. Do I have a legal case here ?
Staff are friendly and professional. It's a pleasure to go there each week. Relaxed atmosphere
