Don is a knowledgeable and reputable antique dealer and auctioneer. Don's vast knowledge and years of experience help the seller realize the best possible prices. Plato Auctions advertises extensively and has many followers on social media. Potential buyers are well informed with detailed and accurate descriptions of items for sale. I have personally consigned numerous antiques over the years and have been 100% satisfied with Plato Auctions. The market may have changed and many prices aren't what they used to be, but the service provided has always been professional and honest. I highly recommend Plato Auctions.

Received my parcels in the mail today and they were in great condition and wrapped very well. I will be purchasing from this auction house again.

Diappointing - I contacted and agreed to purchase two advertised items - when I arrived the attendee told me I could only have one the other one was pending purchase to someone else the next day - someone came from the Brantford area and bought the other item ( the better of the two) the next day --- to add salt to the wound I had just purchased an item from them a few days earlier building character as to my reliability -- my only thought is that possibly the other buyer offered more than asking price ? doesn't make any sense - I was paying full list price same day pick up -- never responded to my message of disappointment

One star was given only because no stars was not an option. My spouse had consigned numerous items including art, antique guns, silver etc. After only a few items being sold and over 14 months of no less than twenty emails unanswered I finally made arrangements to get my items back. After two very uncomfortable phone calls with a very rude Mr. Plato he finally agreed to let us come and get our items. After driving 45 minutes he had a few items that didn’t even belong to me and a few minor items that were low in value - Plato started to backpeddle and stated that he did actually sell the two guns and didn’t have answers for the rest. I have never in my life seen a business run this way. Clearly based on the reviews this is pattern . Truly shocking. See you in court.

I have emailed Don Plato regularly since May 2015 inquiring about a sterling silver condiment set that he received from me as well as other items that he agreed to auction. I saw the items listed on the May auction and I received payment for some of the items and an account closed and paid in full summary. I have left several messages asking for a reply, have not received a single response. I would appreciate knowing what happened to these items and receiving payment if they were sold. There was a sterling silver and blue enamel spoon and fork and sterling silver and blue enamel mushroom salt and pepper set. If anyone has knowledge about what happened to these pieces I would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Susan Pollard

As someone who's dealt with many of the auctions houses in the area, both as a buyer and consignor, I will personally attest that Don Plato is among the most honest, knowledgeable, professional and passionate that you will ever either buy from, or consign to in this area. High praise and much respect.
