Great Moutain Soapstone was great to work with, and the product (now three years later) is a decision I would not change. I chose the wildest veining they had at the time...I was looking for drama in a big kitchen. Got it! Everyone loves it, and it suits this Muskoka cottage perfectly. The people were wonderful to work with, and after 3 years, I remember bad suppliers and over priced products...this was neither. Caveats of soapstone (which has nothing to do with the company): don’t let a party bounce quarters into cups, soapstone chips, which I accept as patina...you might not. I have a soapstone farm sink, and corners are difficult to keep clean...I wouldn’t do that again. Soapstone is metallic enough to hold magnets weakly, and seems to occasionally effect cell phone signals (who knew). Finally, if you change your kitchen years from now, you will have some difficulty matching, in some cases (but I knew that).

If you are considering a new kitchen, you owe it to yourself to look into soapstone countertops.Yes, it is a premium product at a premium price, but worth every penny. I would highly recommend giving these guys a call. They just finished our kitchen, and we couldn't be happier.
