I would highly recommend Alexa of Skala Design. Our PAC at General Brock School recently hired her for the second time to design a new playground and we are thrilled with the results! This new playground will be a legacy for years to come. Alexa also designed an outdoor classroom garden for us that was built in 2010 that has been a great success - the kids love it! If you're looking for someone with creativity but who also gets the job done on time and within budget, you have found the right person.

Alexa is a talented and passionate landscape architect who was delightful to work with. She consulted closely with us about what our needs and wants were for our school garden design and designed a functional and visually pleasing green space ideal for play and education for our children. Alexa was an ideal professional for this job not just for her design skills but also because she had previous experience designing school green plans and could help us navigate the VSB greening project proposal guidelines.
Alexa Uhrich of Skala Design did an amazing job with our community garden by providing design ideas and advice on plant selection (needed to be drought tolerant and thrive on slope) - because of the community-nature of our budget, I really appreciated Alexa's advice on getting the most folliage for our dollars. Can't wait for her chosen plants to fill in. We'll be getting great colour in early spring, through to late summer. Couldn't have done it without you, Alexa!
