I'll tell you why, I've not had one pleasant experience with any of these dudes in my entire life. This is still a service - you're not here just to monitor but make others feel comfortable. More often than not, the people you ogle and speak to are just good and orderly people. I've been frowned at, I've been interrogated, I've been made uncomfortable, and I've been treated with suspicion. I know there's always room for human error in any job - but this has just gotten unnacceptable. I've had my hat physically removed at a store, and once I had been threatened to be forcibly removed because I told the security guard I was uncomfortable with him standing right next to me and staring at me as I shopped (on the way out I told the managers and clerk to fire you, hope that happened). Make people comfortable, and drop the attitude.

If I could possibly give them less then 1 star I would, incompetent is the only words that come to mind when people ask me to describe SPI. I've never been treated worse as a civilian or a SECURITY OFFICER as well. No care for who their talking to, they don't care to explain or communicate laws. Maybe hire some people that actually care for once. Oh also, aren't security guards supposed to guard property? Tell that to my car that just got hit.

I had dealt with this company not too long ago at a past event. They were awesome and filled all the expectations of what a security company could.

After working my butt off for this company in lloyd this summer, I had put in over 48 hours of work only to pick up my cheque and having them only pay me for 28 hours of work and told me they didn’t even know if they had records of me working. They completely ripped me off as well as taking a 225 deposit for my uniform.

After working for the two most prominent security guard companies in Canada, a woman who needed to work found S.P.I. guards to be the most underpaid and least likely to understand much of the law. In fact, she found their top "supervisor" most likely to start a physical fight (and did). Even the top managers did not understand the importance of a guard being alone, at night, without even a cellphone. (Her money was tied up paying 150.00 for rental of her S.P.I. uniform). This guard was given a radio, however, it connected to no one. Don't ask for medical help at the Circle Centre Mall on 8th St., you won't get any because the medical kit is "attached to the wall". Wow. (Her social worker advised her to quit - she agreed and did so).

Attended the Eagle Creek Jamboree and SPI were the security working the event. The first night there was underage drinking and people smoking weed 2 feet from security. They were moved to the other side but continued to drink and smoke. The second night was turned away at the gate and not allowed to attend. Was asked if I had been drinking and I said yes. Meantime I could see over the security guards shoulder others falling down drunk. Definitely was discriminated against as there were people walking out the gates with beer and other drinks in their hand and were not stopped. After 10 years of going to this Jamboree both good and bad this year was by far the worst. The security guards were arrogant, smug, amateurs.

That's what spi stands for. Professional group.
