Hi everyone, First of all, DO NOT RENT any property from Guardian Real Estate (Sarnia) I have been renting a house owed by Guardian for 11 months (from Dec 2019). After 2 weeks I started to notice water leaking from the ceiling in my bedroom. I called them and reported immediately. Guess what happened. Absolutely no response from the office. I have emailed them and called them through phone and I visited them every month. Still no response. Right now, i have lost my 300 mattress and my laptop. The ceiling is falling apart. I'm living in my friends couch and I'm paying 900 per month. Now what do you think you should do

The process of renting from this company has been a horrible and degrading process. They violate your tenant rights and force you to pay an illegal deposit amount that isn’t in the contract if you want to rent the property . This company was unable to prove they have a privacy policy in place to protect your personal information from being sold. GREM told me that they have no plan in place to protect tenants from being denied access, keys, or both to a property that has been paid for. We were treated with zero dignity and I guess paying them a 3200 deposit doesn’t even get you human decency. It’s very apparent this company only cares about landlords and not the people who pay them which is us tenants.
After dissecting all details of an intensely strong application. Applicant was made to feel inadequate- Proceeded in requesting very personal information that she didn’t need but was collected anyway and given. She had already casted her judgement as gate keeper. She very much stereo types is unresponsive for communication. She called and belittle the applicant using some degrading comments. Very unprofessional and difficult to work with. The gate keeper doesn’t have a “human” bone in her, let alone any compassion, or willingness to work with seniors- anyone who is self employed, senior skip past their ads the hoops you will have to go through and personal information you will need to give for the lady to tell you “find something you can afford” is distasteful.
Cindy was extremely rude and judgemental . Especially in such a critical vulnerable time in our community and many others communities, the last thing anyone needs is a judgemental ,rude , insensitive witch going around degrading people when they apply to rentals because of her personal opinion on someone’s income situation. Cindy needs to be fired!
I’ve rented with Guardian in two different locations and I can honestly say that the team at GREM goes above and beyond for their tenants. The team is always there to address any concerns and genuinely care for their tenants. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with everyone at Guardian and I would highly recommend Guardian Real Estate Management properties for anyone looking to rent. Guardian offers one of a kind properties and amazing customer service and for that I am grateful. Thank you for everything you’ve done for me in the past 3 years, I appreciate all of you!
