Our mission is to increase tourism revenues in Saint John by marketing our unique and competitive tourism experiences to high potential markets. We strive to influence variables that will lead to increased visitation, extend the average length of stay, encourage repeat visitation and create an image of Saint John as a tourism destination. Our vision at Discover Saint John to position Saint John as the leading tourism destination within New Brunswick, to be recognized and respected as the leader in destination marketing for Saint John and regarded by our members and our peers as Atlantic Canada’s most innovative and effective destination marketing organization. In addition to destination marketing, we have a sales team dedicated to Meetings & Conventions, Sport Tourism, Festivals & Events and Travel Trade that actively sources new leads, prepares comprehensive bid packages and hosts familiarization tours and site visits. Our Visitor Experience program, in addition to managing the municipal visitor information centres throughout Saint John, focuses on researching, creating and promoting additional visitor touch points such as electronic kiosks, smartphone apps, online chat, brochure racks and more. We also have a membership that consists of over 400 hospitality and tourism businesses in the greater Saint John region. Discover Saint John is governed by an eleven member board of directors with five appointees from the City of Saint John, two members of the Saint John Hotel Association, and four members appointed as industry representatives.
