Had an amazing day when we stopped in a while back. Enjoyed a walk that seemed like it wouldn't end, I think there is over a kilometer on sand beach to walk on. This is one of the few sand beaches that I had found since moving here. Amazing uninhibited views of the entire area. One of a few places that you can find the northern black widow spider . Usually found under logs, just keep an eye out around the driftwood and shake off your clothing and towels before leaving. Amazing place to visit and I would definitely recommend this place. As for me, I'll will most certainly be back

A great beach to take a walk at and/or sit back and relax and do some sunbathing. For walking, it must be close to 1 km of shoreline from the 1st main parking lot area to the far left 3rd parking area and past. Maybe more if you walk past the signs that say you're entering a Native Land area. When the tide is out, you can walk the sand bar and look for sea life, or wait till the tide comes in just a bit and walk in ankle-deep water before it comes in too far. If you do, you'll get stranded out there walking through more water to get back to dry land. Great views of James Island and San Juan Islands and all the way down to Mt. Baker in Washington State. Great beach for doing a little sunbathing as well. Most of the families stop at the 1st parking lot, or the 2nd area that's horizontal to the beach. But if you go down to the last 3rd parking lot area past the campgrounds, and walk along the beach path and sand bluffs for 5 to 10 minutes more, you'll find some more secluded areas to get away from the noise of loud and obnoxious kids and dogs and be at peace more. Also a great area for people to do paddle boarding and kayaking right from the beach areas. Which is on my to do list someday when I'm there. The only downfall is...(and I say this being a dog lover myself)....is when dog owners don't obey the laws and keep them on leash like they're supposed to. Nothing worse than lying there in the sun enjoying some vitamin D, and a dog comes along and walks up and jumps all over you because the owner just lets them walk wherever they want and doesn't pay attention to them!!!

I love this beach! Rocky, but sandy as well. So much space and so beautiful!

Best sandy beach on the peninsula with a trail running through the dunes, views of Mt Baker and smaller islands. The beach is long enough to walk along it for an hour, has ample free parking, campgrounds. Parking is open till 11 pm only during all seasons except for summer, so friendly police kicks everyone out at that hour. There's washrooms available in several spots close to the campground. Amazing place for family gatherings, or just a solo visit. Beautiful sandbanks during long tides, great for visiting with kids or dogs. Absolutely a must visit:)
