Visiting the store on my vacation and was surprised to see one of this places still exist. It is small with dozens on display and some used equipment. Mrs. Bruce Engels, director of sales was very friendly and helpful and was nice to talk with him about astronomy. My brother even bought small just to check out Saturn and Moon, his first . I love this place.

This is the first online review I have ever written -- I guess I rely on them so heavily I thought I would share my own experiences in the hope that it might assist other consumers. In a word, Bruce (the owner of New Eyes Old Skies) is a lovely person and an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was extremely courteous, spent quite a bit of time with me on the telephone (on several occasions) to discuss telescope options and actually placed at least 2 calls to different manufacturers on my behalf. I am delighted with my purchase and would deal with Bruce and his business again in a heartbeat. Knowing that I live downtown Toronto and don't have a car, Bruce even delivered the telescope to my home when he was in the city for another purpose. Just incredible service all around -- thanks Bruce!!!

The service is impeccable and you will receive help/advice on your product forever! — and if it takes a 2-hr conversation to answer your 1,000 questions, then that’s what you’ll get! You will be recommended exactly what YOU are looking for — no pressure to sell or drop more money than you intend. Everything done here is timely, inspiring, and pleasing. The two or three one-star comments regarding high prices and long wait times for delivery are ridiculous.
Super helpful. I have always wanted a telescope but never knew where to begin and there is so much information online that it is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. I stopped in one day and spoke with Bruce who is very knowledgeable. He gave me a few options to consider and the pros and cons of each giving me a place to start researching. They were able to order exactly the telescope I wanted. When it arrived Bruce told me not to hesitate to call if I had any questions. I did have a question and when I asked I was not made to feel stupid and reassured that everyone has questions when starting out. I am looking forward to attending one of their observing sessions. Their prices are competitive. One of the options I was looking at was on Amazon. Amazon was only slightly less expensive when factoring in shipping. The little extra money is well worth all the advice and having someone to ask questions.
I wanted to buy a very starter telescope for my son for his birthday. I started doing some online research and I was overwhelmed. There was no way I could sort through all of the available information and pick one. I decided to google some local places to see if there was a telescope store I could go to and I found this place. Well thank goodness I did! They were so extremely helpful, selecting the perfect starter telescope for my needs. My brother ended up buying it as a gift so he dealt with the store. Due to the fact we ordered it very close to his birthday, they didn't have it in time for the birthday so instead they created by hand, the most amazing space box with cutouts of constellations and galaxies, write ups on all of them, 3D painted planets and personalized banners saying Happy Birthday Gabriel made out of individually cut letters from construction paper. I was blown away. Never have I seen a retailer put this much effort and my son still plays with these items a year later. This is why buying local is such a valuable experience. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you're in search of a product from here, give them a chance and your business!

I knew nothing about telescopes except that I wanted one. Bruce was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to make sure I knew everything before taking the plunge. I called a few times to follow up and he was always willing to help out and answer my questions! I highly recommend that you visit New Eyes Old Skies for any needs pertaining to telescopes
Had a pleasure talking to Bruce over the phone. I had a million questions and he had a million and one answers. We've talked for over 30 minutes and I gain invaluable information. Bruce, thank you so much.
