College of Veterinarians advises how much Vets in BC can charge. Implementing a physical exam for every booster/shot. After calling around BC this exam costs 70-100. A mandated 100 physical for every shot/booster. Its sad, only rich people have the privileges of owning a puppy. If your a family on minimum wage and want a puppy ... you simply can't afford theses outrageous prices. Its roughly 200 a visit X 3 visits (6 weeks, 12 weeks, 16 weeks for your puppies vaccines) 600.00. Prove me wrong? Or suggest a Vet in BC that doesn't charge these amounts. Its all a racket.

After the passing of our beloved dog Max, we felt that the Vet that saw him 10hours before didn't do his job and basically told us to wait for the blood tests (700 fully paid) to arrive the next day. 9 hours after we noticed our dog was extremely weak and took him to an emergency hospital. That point we were asked by the emergency vet why we didnt take Max to the vet earlier. The vet was shocked to hear that we had taken Max to the vet earlier but was sent home and asked to come the next day on when the blood test would be available. After max passed away the night before we went back to the same vet to review his blood work and found out his blood work was available after 1 hour of us leaving. Blood work showed early symptoms of something that could have been prevented or helped ease Max's death. We had no problems of putting Max to sleep if he was very sick at least our family could say bye to him. But, we had to see him pass away in a traumatic way. Due to this we filed a complaint in March. Around January we received a letter saying no wrongdoing was done. When we questioned the review, we were told all decisions were final and they don't need to explain themselves to us... We were hoping that we would get some justice but this system is broken.

I filed a complaint and they didn't address the issues. Instead, they absolved the animal hospital of any wrongdoing. After sending a message to further explain the complaints and ask additional questions, I was informed that the investigation panel's decision is final and that my only recourse is through the BC Ombudsman's office. Surprisingly, they don't have an appeal process.

Dr. "K" is fair and objective in her investigations. The Surrey Animal Hospital has had their licence to practice pulled recently, but reinstated. This investigation is almost a year old now, but we were promised after the "Hearing" a verbal update followed by a written report. We have been very patient thus far.

We filed a complaint and they didn't address the issues at all, Instead, they absolved the animal hospital of any wrongdoing. I requested for further information but I was informed that the investigation panel's decision is final. This is very sad and unreasonable. I demand justice for my family member. 1
