I have been a member less than a year. and I can say this space is VERY different from society at large in a good way. and plus, if you have a strong passion for science and technology, than there is a very good chance that you'd like it here.

Excellent place to learn a new skill, or get your project finished. They have laser cutters, CNC mill, a lathe, wood shop, way to many tools to list in a short review. Membership is only 55 and you can come and go as you please. There are lots of awesome people willing to help you as well.

I’ve been a member for four months. The space has maintained equipment, and a knowledgeable and welcoming membership. I have had good access to tools whenever I dropped in. The courses are run by volunteer members. The ones I’ve attended were well organized and VERY well done. Recommended.

Protospace is amazing. It’s a member run maker space funded by the power of song and 55/month membership fees. I live in a small apartment, so making or repairing things is not very feasible. But at Protospace, I have access to welding machines, knife making machines, CNC lasers and mills, a full wood shop capable of producing cabinets, boats or trailer mods. The people are great. It’s a mix of all sorts of personalities, perspectives and backgrounds. The forum we use is also incredibly helpful when you have a question. I find I can get better answers faster than asking on other forums because there’s often a professional in the field you’re asking about whose willing to help you online and often in person.

Protospace is great to work on your projects. They have a great variety of tools but the real reason to join is the members. This is the best place in Calgary to exchange ideas with brilliant and interesting makers.

I'm a member, and it is FANTASTIC. Great place to work on maker projects, but the best thing is the brain trust. If you need help, anyone will offer to give you a hand.

A heaven for all kinds of makers, I have learned so much over the last 3 years! From welding to laser cutting and 3d printing. Highly recommended to visit the open house every Tuesday between 7 and 9 PM, to see it for yourself.
