This was my second time applying to Sheridan and I was looking for a person who could help review my portfolio with my schedule and I'm really glad I found port prep! Garth was an AMAZING teacher. I got a 97 score in my portfolio thanks to him. I loved our sessions for a few reasons. 1- He didn't just tell me what is wrong but he explained why it's wrong. I learned SO MUCH during our classes! 2- He was so knowledgeable and could help me in a variety of subjects... I felt confident showing him different works like life drawing, digital painting, animation, layout, storyboard... and still get useful and amazing critics. 3- What I enjoyed the most was how his classes always motivated me to do more. some people just drain the energy out of you, but with Garth, I was always so excited after our sessions and that lead me to do more. in total, it was a wonderful experience. Thank you so much for all you have done Garth:)

Thanks to the help of port prep and Karen I was accepted into an architecture program. Their knowledge and insight into how to craft a portfolio is invaluable. Not only was Karen able to provide guidance regarding specific schools I wanted to get into, I also vastly improved my work both conceptually and technically in a very short period of time. I would recommend port prep to anyone who is considering applying to university as well as those who want to improve their ability to technically execute their ideas in a unique and professional manner. Bottom line sign up you will not regret it.

I am currently in grade 12 applying to some architecture programs, and the online portfolio assessment from Karen was really helpful. They offer a free 30 minute assessment which helps you to get an idea of what you need to work on. Very friendly and accommodating. UPDATE: I had an in person session with Karen and it gave me a better idea on how to refine my portfolio. Recently,I received acceptance from both universities I applied to for architectural studies (Carleton and Waterloo). I also got into Carleton’s Industrial Design program. Karen’s guidance and feedback was very helpful. Thank you!

If I manage to get into either Ryerson, Waterloo, or UofT's architecture program, it has to be all thanks to PortPrep and especially Karen. She helped me in my last few days prior to evaluation and has made this process so much more easier and less stressful! I'm a grade 12 student applying for architecture programs across Ontario. While I was doing research on tips on what I should add to my architecture portfolio, I came across Karen's video on YouTube. From there I emailed her on the free portfolio evaluation-and within a couple days she did an evaluation on my portfolio. I was honestly really impressed by the amount of very helpful feedback which I've gotten from Karen and she also gave me very helpful tips! Since I'm a photographer, she recommended me to create this one art piece which related architecture and photography very well and so after getting that recommendation, I was very impressed by how helpful Karen really is! I honestly wouldn't even have thought of that idea myself! I recommend every student who is applying for any arts school to go to Karen and take a free portfolio evaluation, I can tell you that she will definitely help you succeed!
