This is a review for Philbrook's Metal Fabrication Shop (2079 Amelia Ave, Sidney, BC V8L 3Z8) I'm sure the rest of the operation is great, I just dealt with the fab shop. After shopping around quite a bit and getting crazy quotes and timelines for a job, these folks did it immediately for *way* less than the others and did a bang-up job. A get-'er-done attitude coupled with effortless skill and experience. What a relief! Highly recommended! Thanks guys!
Simply a pleasure working with the team at Philbrooks. We purchased a beloved woodie Wahl Trawler from Van Isle Yachts and she needed some inevitable assistance in her seaworthiness. Before the sale Drew at Philbrooks made it a point to come meet me personally and let me know what they intended to do and when. After we purchased we discovered a leaking through hull valve that needed replacing before we relocated the boat to US waters. The team at Philbrooks was amazingly accommodating, on short notice at that, and made clean work of the process. We will definitely be back.
We were referred to Philbrook's by Roche Harbor Marine. Our electric motor for the anchor windlass had frozen. Roche was overbooked and unable to help us, but referred us instead to Philbrook's. We were referred to Jerry and/or Drew, I believe, co-owners. We spoke with Jerry and described our problem. He invited to come to the yard and tie-up at the yard's service dock. When we arrived, we met Jerry at the main office and he introduced us to the service personnel who would be reviewing our situation. It was quickly determined that our motor was beyond repair and we would either have to find a replacement motor or replace the entire windlass. Their team conducted a search and were able to find a replacement motor for our 30 year old windlass. Jerry arranged for overnight delivery which could take 3 days if lucky enough to arrive before the weekend, or the following Monday. On Friday, we received a voice mail indicating that the motor had arrived and that they would be able to make the repairs if we were able to be at the yard on that day. We were in Otter Bay, CA. We left immediately and arrived in time for the yard personnel to complete the repairs on the same day the new motor arrive. Kudos to Jerry and his staff, esp. Ryan who performed most of the work. Everyone was extremely helpful, considerate of concerns, extremely professional in the work and courteous to our needs. Thank You...
